Interactive Mock Negotiation event
World Climate

Learn to negotiate a climate deal!

Our very own Dr. Jennifer Murrow is co-facilitating a World Climate interactive mock negotiation event on March 29 from 1:00-4:00 pm with Professor Lauren Edelstein.   It will be held in Room 4123 in McKeldin Library.

This is an amazing opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to experience interactive climate negotiations. Specifically, students will negotiate as a representative of a country bloc at the Climate Conference; strategize and problem solve around the realities of climate change; and test ambitions using a modeling tool used by actual climate negotiators. They will be given the chance to experience the complexity of global climate policy and reaching consensus with diverse actors. The event is modeled after the 2015 Paris Climate Summit, was created by MIT and the non-profit Climate Interactive, and has been run hundreds times around the world, at universities, government agencies, in businesses, as well as at the White House.
