Sustainable Tailgating at UMD Football Games:
The UMD Recycling Team is seeking volunteers for the 2017 Football season to help distribute waste collection bags. This year, we are concentrating our recycling efforts in parking lots and reaching out to tailgaters to encourage maximum recycling participation. We need volunteers to greet folks entering parking lots around campus, hand out bags for recycling and trash, and explain what to do with the bags when tailgating is finished.
Drive to Zero Waste Peer Educator at UMD Football Games:
To support the University’s Drive to Zero Waste, volunteers are need to assist fans with waste separation and disposal within Maryland Stadium. To accomplish this, volunteers will stand at the triple-sort waste bins and help fans determine what waste items are compostable, recyclable, or trash.
