"Big Data" Volunteers  Needed at Patuxent

The North American Bird Phenology program at the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center is currently seeking volunteers to help make millions of historical records of avian migration dates available to the public. 

We have a number of activities that we could use a hand with, ranging from research projects and applications of the data, to help with investigative work tracking down locations and people of the past. The only requirement is a passion for ecology in a changing world. 

Knowledge of birds, ArcGIS, statistics, or experience working with large datasets would help us dive into deeper topics more quickly, but if you are instead are looking to get exposure to these topics, this can be a great learning opportunity!
