Flathead Lake Biological Station (FLBS)

Summer school / field ecology in Montana

FlatheadLake Biological Station (FLBS), associated with the University of Montana, is offering a rigorous field ecology academic program in a spectacular natural setting in Northwest Montana.
Join us June 13 – August 5, 2016 for 2- and 4-week immersion style courses including:

  • Field Ecology, Conservation Ecology, Landscape Ecology, Lake Ecology, Stream Ecology, Alpine Ecology, and Ecology of Forests and Grassland.

Each course involves hands-on learning under the open sky on all day field trips and overnight camping trips to relevant sites in the Flathead Basin including Glacier National Park.   By attending the summer academic program, students can accelerate their coursework and gain field experience, count on personal interaction with instructors, and pick up credits at a reasonable cost.  Apply online here.
A high percentage of qualified scholarship applicants receive financial support from $500 up to $4,000 per student: https://flbs.umt.edu/education/ss_scholarships.aspx.
