Friends
of the National Zoo is looking for educators interested in working with us
this summer! We have multiple positions available for both our FONZ Nature Camp
and our Snore & Roar overnight program. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, like kids,
hiking, and looking for an opportunity to teach outdoors this summer.
Hosts are responsible for leading participants through the entire overnight
experience at the National Zoo. Duties include, but are not limited to,
coordinating participant arrivals and departures, tent set-up and take down,
and running group activities such as family games and tours of the Zoo.
Applicants must be comfortable speaking to and leading
large, diverse groups of people from families and scouts to adults, as well as have strong interpersonal skills with an attention to detail and the ability to
work independently with limited supervision. Knowledge or interest in animals
or environmental education is a plus.
