Paid research internship

The Alliance for Green Heat

Takoma Park, MD

The Alliance for Green Heat is a non-profit organization promoting wood heat as a low carbon, renewable fuel. Wood has been the renewable energy of choice of Americans for generations and it should be a vital part of state and national renewable energy plans. The Alliance also promotes solutions and policies that support cleaner and more efficient biomass heating for low-income populations. Come join a small team of advocates who believe not only in solar and wind, but also in the clean and efficient use of wood for heating homes and businesses.

This internship will provide an excellent opportunity to learn about renewable energy policy and how it applies to a technology that is not always regarded as clean.

This position includes policy research and writing, newsletter creation, website and social media management, as well as a portion of administrative duties. Essential to this work is a passion for renewable energy and energy efficiency. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Applicants from wood-burning and/or low-income areas are encouraged to apply. The internship comes with a stipend of $300 per month for full time and $150 a month for part time and academic credits can be applied if applicable (please specify in your application if your internship will be for credit.). We accept applications on a rolling basis

To apply, please submit cover letter and resume to info@forgreenheat.org
