UMD BATS Team

Looking for an internship opportunity for Spring 2017? Enjoy working outdoors and road trips? The UMD BATS (Bat Acoustic Traveling Study) Team is looking for research interns to conduct field research next spring throughout VA, DC, MD, and DE. Interns are trained on how to program bat detectors to record bat echolocation calls, how to record sound and light pollution, estimate tree height and canopy cover, measure DBH, how to collect insects, and how to use a hand-held GPS.

If you're available every Saturday all day (8am-8pm) February 25 through June 17, please send in your resume, cover letter, and unofficial transcripts to Shannon Pederson at shannonp@umd.edu by December 2. Let her know if you are interested in earning ENSP or ENST internship credit.

Students with cars are especially encouraged to apply. Gas money and tolls are reimbursed.
