Eastern Shore Land Conservancy is offering a unique opportunity this summer for an individual to gain experience in land conservation. The Stewardship Intern will support the Stewardship program staff with managing our extensive easement portfolio. The Stewardship Intern will assist in monitoring our conservation eased properties by making site visits, observing and documenting changes to the properties, and completing and filing monitoring reports for each visit. The Land Steward Intern will also assist the Stewardship Manager with various administrative tasks as needed. The intern will be working from ESLC’s main office located at 114 South Washington Street in downtown Easton, MD.

The ideal candidate will be pursuing an associates or bachelor’s degree in natural resource management, environmental studies, or a related field. The candidate should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, enjoy working with people, interest in the land conservation field, and the ability to spend long days in the field hiking and collecting land-based property information. Strong technological skills necessary. Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle required. $2,000 paid stipend, plus mileage.
