Agriculture Stewardship and Conservation Certificate

Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences is now offering an undergraduate certificate program to help train the next generation of conservation professionals to help agricultural producers meet soil health and water quality goals.
Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences recently announced a new for-credit option for undergraduate students interested in careers in agricultural conservation.
The new Agricultural Stewardship and Conservation Certificate, which will be administered by the Environmental Resource Management (ERM) program, is available to students in a variety of existing four-year undergraduate majors in the College.
It was developed as a result of priority recommendations and input coming from agriculture and environment stakeholders who met in March of last year to discuss agriculture and water quality. The three-day conference, entitled “Pennsylvania in the Balance,” was hosted by the AEC and other partners and provided a forum for development of a collaborative strategy for agriculture to meet its water quality goals by harnessing a culture of stewardship.
