Plant Science Seminar Lecture
Plant Science Seminar Lecture with Dr. Thomas Gordon: "Physiological Plasticity in Plant-Fungal Interactions”
As a professor at UC Davis, Dr. Gordon's responsibilities include research on plant pathogenic fungi to advance principles of plant pathology and develop information that will contribute to more effective management of plant diseases. He teaches a graduate course in plant pathology and an undergraduate general education course on fungal biology.
WHEN: Thursday, Sept. 14 at 4:00 pm
WHERE: 1140 PLSC Building
ABOUT THE LECTURE: The outcome of interactions between plants and fungi is determined not only genetic determinants of virulence and susceptibility but also by the circumstances under which the interaction occurs. This will be illustrated by drawing on recent findings from the pitch canker pathosystem.
