The College of Agriculture of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) at Iowa State University is currently recruiting our 2018 George Washington Carver Summer Research Internship, cohort. The George Washington Carver Summer Research Internship Program promotes “science with practice” by exposing interns to research opportunities under the direction of CALS research faculty members.

Program Dates: 8 week program running from June 9, 2018 - August 4, 2018.
Program Provides: Round trip airfare, room and board on campus, and a campus meal plan

Stipend: $3000

Application deadline: The application acceptance for the George Washington Carver Summer Internship (undergraduate) Program has been extended to March 9

Projects/research activities vary based on the expertise of the faculty mentor to whom the intern is assigned. Disciplines commonly providing opportunities are; agricultural and biosystems engineering, agricultural education and studies, agronomy, animal science, biochemistry, biophysics and molecular biology ecology, evolution and organismal biology, entomology, food science and human nutrition, genetics, development and cell biology, horticulture, natural resource ecology and management, plant pathology and microbiology, and rural sociology. Disciplines within the colleges of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Veterinary Medicine have also been represented in the program.
