Carbon Science Intern
The Nature Conservancy

The Nature Conservancy (based out of Arlington, VA) is looking to hire an intern for the summer.

The job posting can be found here: https://careers.nature.org/psp/tnccareers/APPLICANT/APPL/c/HRS_HRAM.HRS_APP_SCHJOB.GBL?Page=HRS_APP_JBPST&Action=U&SiteId=1&FOCUS=Applicant&JobOpeningId=46277&PostingSeq=1

The intern will be working closely on assessing reforestation opportunities across the US and the over all climate mitigation that could be achieved by reforestation activities in the US. This is a multidisciplinary project that would involve the intern working on remote sensing analysis, specifically identifying LULC (using imagery) across the identified reforestation opportunity areas. Additionally, the intern will help in literature review of carbon sequestration rates that could occur due to reforestation activities and finally delve into state and national level policies that would hinder or promote reforestation activities.

It would be a great opportunity as the intern will not only work with a Global team, but will probably get to talk to many scientists and policy leads at multiple TNC chapters!
