INTERNSHIP at American Farmland Trust summer 2018 on climate & agriculture

American Farmland Trust (AFT) is seeking an intern during the 2018 summer to research how farmers and farmland can help combat climate change. The position is paid ($12/hour), is full time (37.5 hours/week) and will run approximately 12 weeks from June to August. Beginning and ending dates are flexible. While at AFT, the intern will have the opportunity to work with team of AFT program staff on several research projects, and will learn about how farmers and ranchers throughout the United States can be an important part of the solution regenerating soil, sequestering carbon, and permanently protecting farmland for future generations.

Healthy working lands means a healthy climate.

Specific research projects include:
- Conduct state policy/program assessments of agricultural conservation programs that reduce GHG emissions and sequester carbon in fifteen key states with active climate plans; and
- Perform research on state policies that affect the siting of solar energy facilities on farm and ranch land, developing resources for each state and identifying best practices.
