Montgomery County GreenFest
The Montgomery County GreenFest is this Saturday, May 5 from 11am - 4pm. It is the County's premiere environmental festival. http://montgomerycountygreenfest.org/
Of particular interest to your students is our workshop on Finding the Right Green Job for You that we are hosting with EcoWomen. It is from 3-4pm and seats can be reserved at http://montgomerycountygreenfest.org/sessions/green-jobs/
Activities also include DIY presentations and a “Repair Café”, kids tree climbing and stream maze, an electric vehicle and hybrid car show, and almost 100 exhibitors, including nonprofit organizations, artisans, native plant vendor and government agencies. Vegetarian and vegan food will be available for sale.
Educational workshops will be led by local leaders and experts. The schedule is:
Beekeeping and Pollinator Friendly Yards: 12pm – 12:45pm
Quick Pickling with Mark Mills of Chocolates and Tomatoes Farm: 1pm – 1:45pm
Can’t Fail Container Gardening: 2pm – 2:45pm
Find the Right Green Job for You: 3pm – 4pm
