Study Abroad in Bolivia
UMD is offering a new study abroad summer course to Bolivia: Global Health Lessons in Ecotourism and Community Health. We will be visiting indigeneous communities in the Bolivia amazon who are under serious environmental threat (e.g., plans for mega dams, poor placement and construction of Chinese bridge, illegal logging, gold mining etc.). Madidi national park has the greatest biodiversity in the world according to the Wilderness Society.
Applications are due March 1, however, some scholarship deadlines are earlier.
