Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council (ITRC) in DC

The Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council (ITRC) is a non-profit, state-led coalition working to reduce barriers to the use of innovative environmental technologies. ITRC achieves its mission through its technical teams, which are composed of environmental professionals from various backgrounds, including: state and federal environmental regulators, tribal members, federal agency
representatives, industry experts, community stakeholders, and academia. Since 1995, ITRC has published hundreds of documents and reached tens of thousands of participants through training courses on hundreds of environmental topics. ITRC is a program of the Environmental Research Institute of the States (ERIS), a 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in the District of Columbia and managed by the Environmental Council of the States (ECOS). Internship Description
The intern will have the opportunity to assist with a variety of research tasks to identify information that will be useful for our new 2020 teams. Research topics may include those related to produced water, emerging contaminants, microplastics, innovative remediation technologies, etc. Additional tasks include assisting with social media and outreach, meeting and event planning, along with
various other day to day tasks.


This is a 10-week paid internship based on education and experience. The selected individual will be responsible for their transportation to and from Washington, DC as well as lodging while in Washington, DC for the internship.

Qualifications
ITRC is looking for candidates with a technical academic background with experience in the environmental field either through coursework, past employment, or volunteer experience. Candidates should have excellent technical research and writing skills. Candidates must have experience in Microsoft Office Suite as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.
