Undergraduate Student Worker

The Environmental Science and Technology Pedology Lab is seeking to hire 1-2 undergraduate employees for summer work. Duties will primarily consist of assisting graduate students in the UMD Pedology Laboratory on the R/V Wassent, a subaqueous soils research vessel. Field work will take place on rivers in the Annapolis, MD area. As a crew member, you will gain valuable experience working on and operating a small boat, operating a vibracorer and other sampling equipment. Motivated individuals will have the opportunity to meet their internship experience requirement. Hours will vary by weather conditions.

Additionally duties will include working in the Pedology Lab, running selected analyses on collected samples. There may be opportunities for additional lab and field work related to other projects.

Previous experience with boats or soil description is valued, but not required to apply.
