Part time Stakeholder Coordinator/Intern

The Center for Global Sustainability (CGS), based in the University of Maryland School of Public Policy, integrates collaborative engagement across diverse communities with our ability to generate analysis to support higher ambition to address challenges from climate change to developing energy innovation to building resilience to bolstering climate finance. Our location near Washington, D.C., research network, international policy expertise, and connections with key countries ensure that our research has immediate and significant impact on global and national policy processes.
 
Internship Summary
The event coordinator for CGS will assist the team and specifically the Manager of Strategic Engagement in planning and executing event logistics and stakeholder coordination for any and all events, including workshops, panels, receptions, roundtables, etc.
 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage all event logistics including coordination with venues, speaker outreach, catering, technical needs, registration, and more
  • Track and update event agenda
  • Set and manage event budgets
  • Research sustainability issue areas and draft event invites based on desired audience and press response
  • Update stakeholder lists and execute engagement plan
  • Prepare post-event data analytics, including social media, attendance, new contacts, and more
  • Manage any website updates and event announcements
Internship Qualifications
  • At least a sophomore at a four-year college or university with at least a 3.00 grade point average
  • Experience working in events and/or logistics
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Capable of meeting tight deadlines on a regular basis and working collegially with a small team
  • Experience managing large data sets and list scrubbing
  • Interest in sustainability, climate change, environment, energy, or related field
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, and professional
  • Ability to travel, a plus
