Transformative Field Ecology Experiences
Flathead Lake Biological Station, U of Montana - Summer 2020

FLBS offers a summer academic program in spectacular northwest Montana where students (undergrads and grads) from universities throughout the U.S. and around the globe attend field-based ecology courses in aquatic and terrestrial realms. Application is open and students are applying now at https://flbs.umt.edu/apps/education/.

Students describe their time at FLBS as a transformative experience topped off with a judicious share of scholarly fun and camaraderie. They attribute this to the immersion-learning advantage afforded by a program where students take one course at a time.

Dartmouth graduate student Melissa DeSiervo attended in 2019 and notes, “I truly can’t believe how much I learned in only two weeks, all while having fun and connecting with other scientists!"
