Chesapeake Bay Trust, Chesapeake Conservation Corps


The National Park Service Chesapeake Bay Office has a wonderful developmental opportunity for students. We are looking for an outgoing, ambitious intern to join our team via the Chesapeake Bay Trust, Chesapeake Conservation Corps, a cohort of young professionals in the environmental field:

Working with the National Park Service (NPS) Chesapeake Bay Office, the Corps member will: 

(1) Work with a local school or community group to develop a new Meaningful Watershed Education Experience (MWEE). Teach students how to take care of the environment! The Corps member will serve as project lead and partner coordinator.
(2) Develop and pilot a new collaborative 4th grade education initiative that incorporates culturally-competent and trauma-informed strategies. Make an impact on community health!
(3) Participate in outreach and through the Kids in Kayaks program and the “Roving Ranger,” our mobile visitor center that travels across the watershed to public festivals, schools, and camps. Be a voice for change!

Qualifications:
Corps Members must be age 18 to 25 at the start of the program.
Each Corps Member will work approximately full-time (40 hrs a week) at a Host Organization for a period of one year for a stipend-support year of service ($19,000) beginning on August 18, 2020.
Corps Members will participate in at least one conference, six trainings, and three project days within the service year.
Corps Members must complete a capstone project by the end of their service year.

Corps Members must complete at least four site visits at fellow Corps Member’s host sites.
