Wildlife Habitat Council conference - funding available

Every Fall, the Wildlife Habitat Council hosts their annual Conservation Conference for all of our member companies and partnerships – typically we have in attendance around 400 people from fortune 500 companies, governmental organizations and environmental non-profits. This year, we are going virtual with WHC Connect due to the unprecedented circumstances that do not allow us to meet in person.

Vulcan Materials has graciously offered to sponsor 50 students and/or teachers studying in relevant fields near their Alabama facilities to attend our virtual event (this can include fields such as biology, sustainability, animal science, environmental science, GIS, environmental planning, environmental engineering, and more!).   Their scholarship to attend would include access to all of our offered sessions and workshops, networking with all our attendees and employees, and a chance to get to know more about Vulcan Materials and the opportunities they can offer for their future.

At this conference, students will get valuable information about various conservation topics that are applicable to real world jobs and can network with people from big companies, many students have landed internships or permanent jobs from the networking at our conference. This event will give students a big picture of what type of companies and organizations they may be able to get employment with after graduation, many of which we may not have otherwise thought of for sustainability and environmental jobs.
