Research Internships: Get Your Feet Wet w/ Research! I

Research Opportunities for Undergrads:
Have you ever wanted to learn more about streams and rivers and how to manage environmental problems?  If so, we are looking for internships in our lab to work on projects related to monitoring water quality in local streams on campus and also major rivers in our region.  Students can gain hands-on experience collecting water samples, taking streamflow measurements, and sample processing.  Unpaid internships are available in the beginning, but students can also have opportunities to gain course credits/grades based on initial performance and interest in field and lab projects.  Over the years, we many mentored well over 50 students and quite a few students have also had opportunities to become co-authors on published scientific papers and gain paid internships based on contributions.  Many of our students have gone onto jobs in our field and/or graduate schools, but we have also had students in other majors that gained an appreciation for the environment and had a fun and educational experience.

We are a friendly and motivated group and you can learn more about us at:  https://kaushallab.wixsite.com/kaushallab.  If you're interested, please contact:  Dr. Sujay Kaushal (skaushal@umd.edu) and Ms. Jenna Reimer (jennareimer15@gmail.com) w/ a brief resume or statement of interest.
