Winter Term 2021 Course: CHBE405/ENCH605: Global Perspectives on Air Pollution Sources and Control

The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering will be offering CHBE405/ENCH605: Global Perspectives on Air Pollution Sources and Control as a Global Classrooms Connections course this upcoming winter term.

CHBE405/ENCH605 explores sources and effects of global air pollutants and international regulatory trends, intercontinental pollutant transport and atmospheric dispersion models, the development and use of air pollution control systems in different countries, and the design of systems in the energy sector for control and mitigation of gases and particulate matter.


This course is open to any UMD and non-UMD sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students meeting the prerequisites, which are CHEM135 or equivalent, PHYS260, and MATH140/141 and that undergraduate students should have at least 60 credits by end of fall '20 term.  There is no minimum GPA requirement to enroll in these courses.


Students interested in registering for these courses should email Kathleen Gardinier or Amanda Alicea to obtain course permissions. Once students have obtained permission to register via email, they may go ahead and register on Testudo.
