CivicSpark Fellows focus on projects that support local government capacity through planning and policy support to address community resilience issues such as:
- Sustainable transportation
- Energy efficiency
- Climate action planning
- Water conservation & drought response
- Equity and affordable housing
Climate Action Corps Fellows focus on projects engaging communities with direct climate action such as:
- Urban tree planting initiatives to lower home energy bills in low-income communities
- Edible food rescue programs that address the state’s food insecurity crisis
- Wildfire prevention and mitigation through education and direct action

Fellows get exceptional real-world project management and community engagement experience serving alongside organizations and regional leaders, including:
- Outcome-driven project implementation experience
- Mentorship and project level support
- Training on project-related tools and techniques
- Statewide networking with local, regional, and state leaders
