Equestrian Manager - Girl Scouts of Central Maryland

Position Summary: The Equestrian Manager assists in the administration, management and supervision of the delivery of the equestrian program at Girl Scouts of Central Maryland’s summer Resident Camp. The incumbent will implement and promote programs that are exciting and challenging so girls can grow and test their abilities. As a member of the Administration team, the Equestrian Manager is responsible for ensuring all camp policies and procedures are communicated and followed by staff and campers. The Equestrian Manager must model and clearly communicate the expected behavioral conduct of campers and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides supervision of equestrian staff and horseback riding counselors.
• Oversees horse care and stable maintenance.
• Manages supply ordering and inventory.
• Works with the CIT/JC Manager for successful delivery of the Wrangler In Training (WIT) program.
• Assists with scheduling staff to meet program needs and the girl to adult ratio requirements.
• Designs a high quality, leveled riding program for girls grades 4-12 and trains staff in its implementation.
• Works with the staff in implementing Girl Scout program activities and ensuring reinforcement of Girl Scouts program, goals and mission as well as American Camp Association mission.
• Assists in planning and conducting pre-camp training, staff meetings and in-service opportunities as well as assist in scheduling of staff and campers, including time in between sessions.
• Ensures that the staff conducts the riding program in a way that creates the highest quality Resident Camp experience for all girls.
• Assists in maintaining and implementing procedures which uphold Volunteer Essentials standards, Maryland Youth camp regulations and American Camp Association accreditation standards.
• Assists with the opening and closing day procedures and processes are implemented in a way that ensures the utmost safety and efficiency for the girls and staff.

Accommodation
