The Maryland Clean Energy Center (MCEC) was created in 2008 to encourage the transformation of the energy economy. MCEC works to implement financing solutions that catalyze the growth of business, create jobs, and make clean energy technologies, products and services affordable and accessible for Maryland consumers.
The Center for Climate Strategies (CCS) was created in 2004 to help governments and stakeholders work together to develop and implement multi objective climate change solutions in all economic sectors and levels of government.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Seeking one-year full or significant part time Fellow to support the development, launch and operation
of the Maryland Climate Change Catalytic (C3) Fund with possible term extension and/or transition to a
longer-term fund management position based on performance and qualifications. The Fellow will work
closely with and support a team of professional staff and consultants at the Maryland Clean Energy
Center (MCEC) and MCEC’s consultants at the Center for Climate Strategies (CCS) on research
related to strategy, structure, and function for the emerging C3 Fund. This includes tasks related to
needs assessments, technical research, organizational design, implementation and investment
mechanisms, climate and clean energy policy and investment integration, network development,
capacity building, training, tools, and other developmental components of the new C3 Fund. The Fellow
will report to Steven Cowan, Chief Investment Officer, Maryland Clean Energy Center.
REQUIREMENTS
The candidate should have, or be in the process of completing, directly related education and
experience in business, finance, science, policy, law, and or management, with graduate education
preferred. Candidates may potentially combine their fellowship role with current graduate education and
capstone requirements.
LOCATION
The position works with the MCEC team at its headquarters in College Park, Maryland, with some instate travel. MCEC may be flexible with on-site and remote arrangements, but regular presence at the
MCEC office is required.
ANNUAL COMPENSATION
Up to $60,000 per year
