Opportunity for ENSP students to connect with NOAA Ocean Exploration vessel

Logan Kline, who is an ENSP alum, is currently working as a fellow for NOAA Ocean Exploration. She would like to connect ENSP students with scientists onboard Exploration Vehicle (E/V) Nautilus, a deep-sea exploration vessel operated by Ocean Exploration Trust.

Ocean Exploration Trust hosts ship-to-shore interactions during their expeditions that allow students in classrooms to connect with scientists on E/V Nautilus. These interactions are live, operated through Zoom or Google Meet, and last ~30 minutes with time for an expedition update and audience-led question and answer session about careers, discoveries, or the ocean exploration process. Interactions are available daily from May 16 through December 19 in 2023.

From about October 9-19, Logan will be working onboard E/V Nautilus during their multi-vehicle expedition in Hawaiian waters, during which several underwater robots will be deployed to collect data in the deep ocean. As a participant on this expedition, she will be able to host and/or facilitate ship-to-shore interactions with classes, clubs, and other groups, including UMD students!

Logan would love to connect with current ENSP students through one or more of these ship-to-shore live interactions!

Interested?  Email Logan at this email (logan.kline@noaa.gov) and she will then give you an interest form to fill out.
