Nicaragua is a model for sustainable development having increased resilience to climate change, eliminated hunger, decreased poverty and illiteracy, while producing 90% of its own food and exporting beef, coffee, and fruit. All of this was achieved while decreasing per capita greenhouse gas emissions which are 1/8 as high as in the US.
