Natural Resources Technician Intern at MD-DNR (Summer 2024)

 


The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) invites eligible candidates to apply for an internship with Wildlife and Heritage Services. This opportunity will provide hands-on experience in the Land Management field.

The main purpose of this position is to assist with seasonal land management projects on Wildlife Management Areas in the Southern Region. Projects may include creating and maintaining wildlife food plots, maintaining the Myrtle Grove WMA shooting range, resident Canada goose banding, mourning dove banding, wildlife surveys, habitat mowing, parking area maintenance, invasive plant management, and water level maintenance. Applicants must be willing to work a flexible schedule including early start times and work in extreme conditions including heat, humidity, rain and/or in the presence of biting insects.

The internship runs 11 weeks between June and August. The specific start/end dates, hours, and schedule will be determined in collaboration between the intern and supervisor.
