Winter Semester Program on Climate Resilient Development in Vietnam

Students can apply through the brochure page here: https://myea.umd.edu/index.cfm?FuseAction=Programs.ViewProgram&Program_ID=11904

The program explores the many ways in which climate change is or will impact the economy, ecosystem, livelihoods, and rural and urban communities of Vietnam's Mekong Delta region and the many responses being undertaken to adapt to climate change and to reduce the economy's own environmental footprint. The program will highlight major principles and applications of climate-resilient development planning, agriculture, natural resources management, and urban planning-- through lectures, discussions with experts and field visits throughout the region. During recent decades, Vietnam's Mekong Delta region has been one of the developing world's most productive agricultural regions, yet it is also one of the regions expected to be most impacted by climate change. The program experience will also involve exposure to the Vietnamese language, culture, and wonderful cuisine.
