Visiting Fulbright Scholar lecture - Forest Ecology & Traditional Knowledge

The Dept. of Anthropology and PASA are hosting two events next week on Friday, October 17th with visiting Fulbright Scholar Dr. Prasit Wangpakapattanawong from Chiang Mai University in Thailand. He is visiting UMD this semester. His work focuses on forest restoration and ethnoecology in northern Thailand. These events will be great opportunities to learn more about environmental social science in forest ecosystems.

First, at noon we will have a brown bag lunch discussion for graduate students with Dr. Prasit Wangpakapattanawong about applied environmental social science careers and research. Snacks will be provided, but feel free to bring your own lunch.

Second, at 2pm Dr. Wangpakapattanawong will give a talk in Woods 2101W about his ongoing research on forest ecology and ethnoecology across Southeast Asia.
