Introducing Plant Futures at UMD– Exciting Food Systems/Climate Opportunity for Students

Plant Futures Initiative (PFI) is non-profit dedicated to empowering students to become ethical leaders and entrepreneurs in sustainable food systems. Founded at UC Berkeley, PFI offers community events, applied learning courses, and networking opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students interested in plant-centric food systems careers and community building.

A Plant Futures chapter is being launched at UMD and they are currently recruiting both leadership board members and general student participants.

This is an exciting and rapidly growing field that many UMD students across all disciplines would be eager to explore. Our chapter will host events, professional networking opportunities, and workshops focused on sustainable career pathways, providing students with meaningful opportunities to create tangible impact on campus and beyond.

Students interested in joining, especially those excited about leadership roles, can reach out to Assata Makonnen <amakonn2@terpmail.umd.edu> directly or fill out [this form].
