The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection (MCDEP) located in Wheaton, Maryland is currently seeking unpaid summer interns and volunteers for the stream monitoring program. The purpose of this opportunity is to train and educate students, so they are better prepared to enter the workforce in environmental and biological fields. Most of the student's time will be assisting field crews while conducting fish surveys via electrofishing. MCDEP will strive to create an opportunity that will provide students with pertinent information they can apply throughout their academic career and practical experiences to assist them in their career pursuits. We have had positive experiences with University of Maryland students in the past and believe this opportunity will be of interest.
