2026 Summer “Maritime” Crossroads Heritage Internship


Internship Description:  
The Chesapeake Crossroads Heritage Area is seeking applicants for the 2026 Summer Internship Celebrating Maritime Heritage in the Chesapeake Crossroads (beginning early June) to aid in the development of "Paddling Through Time" tours, focused on maritime history, archaeology, and natural heritage in the West & Rhode Rivers and the Patuxent River. This will be done in collaboration with Anne Arundel County Cultural Resources Section as a part of the Chesapeake Crossroads grant award from Preservation Maryland.  

Qualifications:   
Applicants should be enrolled in a college-level program or recently graduated. A successful candidate should have a familiarity or knowledge of three or more of the following areas of interest: historical research methods, archaeology, GIS, Maritime history, content writing, Maryland history, watersports (kayaking, canoeing, sailing etc.), graphic design (Adobe suite/ Canva or similar platforms), and/or environmental history.
