Friday, October 2nd (2pm-4pm, Ulrich Recital Hall), Dr. Rosalind Fredericks will be visiting UMD as part of the Environmental Anthropology Speaker Series to screen and discuss her film, The Waste Commons. Dr. Fredericks is an Associate Professor of Geography and Co-director of the Discard Studies Collaborative (with Robin Nagle) at New York University. Her long-term research in Dakar Senegal, explores labor, social justice, development and environmental politics through the lens of waste work.
