BSOS DSAC - Undergraduate 3 Minute Thesis Competition

Have you conducted undergraduate research that you’re passionate about sharing? The BSOS Dean’s Student Advisory Council (DSAC) is excited to introduce the inaugural Undergraduate Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition, an opportunity for BSOS students to showcase their research, develop valuable communication skills, and compete for tuition prizes!

Why Participate?

  • Showcase Your Research: Share your findings and highlight research you’re passionate about with faculty, fellow students, and the broader BSOS community.

  • Strengthen Your Communication Skills: Develop your public speaking and presentation skills by learning to communicate complex research in just three minutes through a graduate-level experience.

  • Compete for Cash Prizes: The top three students will receive prizes in the form of credits toward their tuition accounts.

Who Can Participate?

All undergraduate students in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences (BSOS) who have completed research that is ready to be presented and have a faculty or staff advisor are invited to participate.

Competition Timeline

  • October 29: Mandatory information session introducing the 3MT format, presentation structure, and competition requirements.

  • November 20: Deadline to submit a three-minute 3MT video.

  • December–January: Receive feedback and refine your video and presentation.
