Government Relations Internship
American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) - Feb 15 appl deadline
The Office of
Government Relations in the AAAS conducts an integrated program of
activities designed to provide timely, objective information to Members of
Congress and their staff on current science and technology
issues. Candidates for the Government Relations Internship
should have an interest in the intersection of science, technology, and public
policy; Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly in writing
for popular audiences; and a Strong academic background. All majors will be
considered, with priority given to the natural and social sciences, and
engineering.
Activities may include attending hearings, writing articles
for our newsletter, Science and
Technology in Congress, preparing and maintaining issue briefs published on
the Web, and assisting with other activities, such as congressional
briefings. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about science and
technology policy, and to gain experience working with Congress and legislative
issues. The summer internship is full-time and includes a stipend.
