Research funding opportunity Greenbelt Forest Preserve Ecology Fund Application   The Greenbelt Forest Preserve is a 255-acre preserve owned by the City of Greenbelt, Maryland. As established by City Code in 2003, the land is “preserved in a natural state for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.”   The City Council has established a fund to encourage research about the ecosystem and history of the Preserve, and improve stewardship of the Preserve. The fund will be dispersed as reimbursable grants to researchers for certain types of expenses. Anyone can apply. Preference will be given to projects with outputs that enhance the ability of the city to manage the Preserve. Scholarship available Maryland Forestry Foundation The Maryland Forestry Foundation is calling for applications to fill 2 Mel ​Fellowship/Scholarship positions for the period from October 1, 2019 – July 31, 2020. These Fellowships are funded through the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and administered by the Maryland Forestry Foundation. Applications must be received by September 15, 2019. Fall 2019 Seats available in ENST courses The ENST department has some courses available this fall with plenty of seats still open! Look at the Schedule of Classes on Testudo for full course descriptions and times. Many of these courses (specifically the 3-credit upper level courses) could be appropriate Restricted Electives; be sure to contact the faculty advisor for your concentration (and copy me) when seeking approval.
