Opportunity for ENSP students to connect with NOAA Ocean Exploration vessel

  Logan Kline, who is an ENSP alum, is  currently working as  a fellow for  NOAA Ocean Exploration .   She would like  to connect ENSP students with scientists onboard  Exploration Vehicle (E/V)  Nautilus , a deep-sea exploration vessel operated by  Ocean Exploration Trust . Ocean Exploration Trust hosts  ship-to-shore interactions  during their expeditions that allow students in classrooms to connect with scientists on E/V  Nautilus.  These interactions are live, operated through Zoom or Google Meet, and last ~30 minutes with time for an expedition update and audience-led question and answer session about careers, discoveries, or the ocean exploration process. Interactions are available daily from May 16 through December 19 in 2023. From about October 9-19,  Logan   will be working onboard E/V  Nautilus  during their  multi-vehicle expedition  in Hawaiian waters, during which several underwater robots will be deployed to collect data in the deep ocean. Coastal Communities Collaborations Internship - Maryland Sea Grant

  This program is targeted to recent graduates (within 3 years of your undergraduate degree).   Maryland Sea Grant is seeking a bilingual, biliterate (i.e., fluency in Spanish-English speaking and writing) intern to help expand our capacity in community engagement, environmental literacy, and workshop development, particularly with Maryland’s Spanish-speaking communities. This position will provide fundamental training for transitioning to graduate school or the private, nonprofit, or governmental sectors. As part of the internship, the intern will be expected to complete   2-3 special projects , participate in several professional development trainings, and contribute to the administration of our main office. Interns must have a bachelor's degree in natural, social, or environmental science or policy. Hollings Scholarship info

  Attention rising SOPHOMORES studying atmospheric and oceanic sciences, environmental engineering, environmental sciences or policy, or ANY major with a strong environmental focus! The   National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Hollings Scholarship   provides two-year academic scholarships (up to a maximum of $9,500 per year) for full-time study, and a 10-week, full-time, paid internship position ($700/week) the summer after junior year at a NOAA facility. In the last eight years, 36 Maryland students have won Hollings Scholarships! Seasonal Interpretive Planning Assistant

Great opportunity for a recent grad! The Department of Natural Resources, Maryland Park Service Headquarters located in Annapolis, MD, is currently accepting applications for one (1) seasonal contractual Interpretative Planning Assistant. This 10-month position provides direct support to the Chief of Interpretation.  The selected candidate will assist with ongoing and new MPS interpretive projects and programs including nature center exhibit development, topic research, and coordinating internal and external communication on interpretive programs and special events.  Duties will also include development and organization of curriculum and displays for programming and outreach; producing newsletters, advertising, and social media; and graphic design and website development.  This position will primarily work in the Annapolis area - MPS Headquarters Office but will be heavily involved with state-wide programs and initiatives and may require occasional travel throughout the state of Maryla
