In the spring semester, students complete an internship in a federal agency, Congressional office, or related organization — including NGOs, nonprofits, think tanks, or private industry. During the internship, they apply lessons from the seminar course and supplementary courses to real-life situations. Fall 2020 update As of 6/22/20 On June 15, President Loh released a statement regarding the state of affairs for the Fall 2020 semester. Regarding academics: "Learning and teaching Provost Mary Ann Rankin is working to support faculty in creating new and engaging curricula -- blended, online, and in-person -- together with co-curricular opportunities in order to maximize student learning and development. Members of our faculty have submitted more than 150 proposals to develop courses.  Work continues to determine exactly which courses will be offered in-person, online or in a blended format and what the room assignments and daily schedule will be . We expect that some portion of upper and lower division undergraduate courses will be taught in-person with priority given to classes that particularly need in-person instruction to be maximally effective such as labs, performance courses, senior capstone projects, clinical instruction and internships. Tutoring opportunity Serve Your City DC Serve Your City on a virtual tutoring program serving DC Public Schools. We are a community based, black-led organization that provides resources, experiences and programs for the most underserved populations in Washington DC. Our goal is to train, teach, and inspire at-promise students by giving opportunities to those that need it the most.  This program is addressing the need we are seeing from parents and students around advancing their education. Since DC Public Schools moved to online learning, many families are facing difficulties. For a variety of reasons, many parents and teachers are unable to give children individualized attention during this troublesome and turbulent time, making it difficult for students to excel in their studies. The spring iteration of this program engaged around 100 volunteers, and served upwards of 50 families. We are looking to expand into the summer, when we know that kids will need help to prevent the

Her research was used to force Exxon and BP to pay fines after their respective oil spills in 1989 and 2010. Merav would be the first scientist in the senate since 1982, as well as the first woman scientist and the first climate scientist ever elected to the senate. She’s running on a smart, cohesive, progressive platform.   Our staff includes wildlife biologists and former Warren and Clinton staffers! Care Act Funding Available The University of Maryland is encouraging eligible students facing financial distress caused by the COVID-19 pandemic’s disruption of university operations to apply for assistance through the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. Students who wish to apply must fill out the application and provide a statement about how the COVID-19 situation and the disruption of campus operations resulted in financial hardship.  To complete the application, log in to the financial aid portal . Eligible students may use the funds for expenses such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and child care. January 2021 Internship Ocean Mammal Institute FIELD RESEARCH ON THE HAWAIIAN HUMPBACK WHALE - JAN 4, 2021 - JAN 21, 2021 Two-thirds of the North Pacific population of humpback whales come to Maui each winter to mate and give birth. Help us with our pioneering vessel impact research in this critical whale habitat for approximately three weeks in January 2021. Summer Food Policy Internship Opportunity Prince Georges Food Equity Council The intern will have the opportunity to play an important role in many aspects of FEC's committee work. The Food Equity Council Director will oversee the intern's work on specific projects for 10 to 25 hours per week for at least three months.
