Volunteer with the UMD Arboretum

Join the UMD Arboretum and Botanical Garden for monthly volunteer events including plantings, litter clean-ups, and invasive species removals. The Arboretum also offers tours of the sustainable features of the campus landscape and plantings including pollinator gardens, rain gardens, and vegetable gardens- virtually or in person. Support greening of the campus landscape by dedicating a tree, volunteering, and more! Your office, organization, or Greek chapter can also ‘adopt a garden’ to tend to consistently.  LEARN MORE

Fall Fellowship Program

The   Mike Rosenbaum for Maryland   campaign is launching a Fall Fellowship Program starting September 13, 2021.  The Fellowship Program will be geared towards individuals who are new to political campaigns and will create a fundamental understanding of how a specific aspect of the campaign works to support the overall goals of the campaign. We would like to make this opportunity available to all students who are interested. Students can apply here at mikerosenbaum.com/fellows and applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.

Attention first-year students: register for Grand Challenges of Our Time - UNIV110

The University of Maryland is offering you the opportunity to participate in a special one-credit course taught by University President Darryll J. Pines. Grand Challenges of Our Time: UNIV110 will engage a limited number of first-year students in discussions about the COVID-19 pandemic, Black Lives Matter, social unrest, climate change and civic engagement—all important issues that President Pines wants to discuss with you and other selected students in this new course. This one-credit class will meet twice per week from September 20 to November 10, 2021. On Mondays, from 4:00 to 5:15 p.m., President Pines will lead the class with the help of national and campus experts. During the second weekly meeting on Wednesday afternoons, you will have a chance to connect with other first-year Terps in small discussion groups.
