The Bartlett Tree Foundation At-Large Scholarship - Spring 2018 The Bartlett Tree Foundation is continuing to offer the at-large scholarships for the upcoming spring semester. The Foundation will be offering two at-large scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00 each. Like our current scholarships, these special scholarships will be available to students in arboriculture/urban forestry who have a genuine interest in a career in arboriculture. The scholarships will be available to the Bartlett Tree Foundation supported schools as well as other, two and four year, colleges and universities that have programs in horticulture, arboriculture and/or urban forestry. Welcome Back!  Greetings from ENSP -   To the ENSP Community:   Welcome back to campus for the 2017-2018 academic year at the University of Maryland!  I hope you all had a refreshing summer break filled with new experiences, friends and loved ones.  For me, I had the opportunity to travel to San Diego with my husband:  we biked along the harbor, hiked Torrey Pines and kayaked along the sea caves in La Jolla next to sun-bathing sea lions (and ate lots of tacos!).   I’d like to first take a moment to welcome the newest members of the ENSP community , starting with our freshmen and transfer students that came through new student orientation this summer!  This bright group of students brings a wide variety of ideas, passions, and experiences that will only enhance our program more.  Welcome, new Terps!   We are thrilled to welcome our new ENSP Director, Dr. Mark Carroll.   Dr. Carroll is an Associate Professor within the Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architectur

We do this to remember the life of a promising young man and to reaffirm – especially in these fraught times – core values of our country and our campuses: diversity, inclusion, respect, and civil discourse.

For Graduating Seniors Anthropology Graduate Program at Notre Dame The Anthropology graduate program at Notre Dame is committed to the richness and diversity of the discipline, building bridges between various humanistic and scientific approaches. With the research expertise in their department, the four-field graduate program is a very attractive option for graduate students. They accept between 5 and 8 graduate students each year, with each accepted student receiving full funding for five years (which includes a competitive stipend, conference travel, as well as summer funding). Fall 2017 Internship Anacostia Watershed Society (AWS) The Anacostia Watershed Society (AWS) is looking for environmental science and Landscape Architecture (and related disciplines) students for its 2017 Fall River Restoration Internship program (September-November approximately). This is a great opportunity to get students involved in real world watershed stewardship issues such as stormwater management, wetland restoration, reforestation, arboriculture, SAV propagation, environmental monitoring, invasive plant management, outdoor recreation, community outreach and environmental education. This is an unpaid internship and will be based in Bladensburg, MD with minimal travel to sites in Prince George's county and the District of Columbia.

2017 Farm Credit Scholarship Program The Farm Credit Foundation for Agricultural Advancement is giving away ten $10,000 scholarships for students who are planning to pursue a career in agriculture. Remember:  "Agriculture" is not just farming!  It touches on all aspects of life:  food systems, conservation of land, soil health, water quality, plant protection, wildlife conservation, and more! Applications open Spring 2018 White House Internship Program The Spring 2018 White House Internship Program application is now open. The application portal will remain open until 11:59PM EDT on September 8, 2017. Any applications received after the deadline will not be considered.  The Spring 2018 White House Internship Program term runs from January 10, 2018 to April 27, 2018. Writing and Communications Intern Office of Sustainability The Writing and Communications Intern should be prepared to perform a variety of responsibilities, including developing content for the campus sustainability website and newsletter, such as documenting campus sustainability news and events through written summaires, photographing new projects and events, maintaining the Office of Sustainability's Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram pages. Applicants should be an excellent writer, able to summarize complex topics into succinct articles, and have photography skills.
