Internship - Citizens Climate Lobby

Legislative Intern (Fall 2020, Washington, DC / remote)  This intern will conduct research on energy policy, economics, congressional records, health effects of climate change, etc. Other responsibilities include data entry using Salesforce, congressional research for biographies and meetings, cross checking field reports, uploading data to websites, and more. Reports to Vice President of Legislation and Research in Washington, DC. NOAA Hollings Scholarship

Attention  FIRST YEAR STUDENTS  planning studies in atmospheric and oceanic sciences, environmental engineering, environmental sciences and policy, or ANY major with a strong environmental focus or interest!   The Hollings Scholarship provides two-year academic scholarships (up to a maximum of $9,500 per year) for full-time study, and a 10-week, full-time, paid internship position ($700/week) the summer after junior year at a NOAA facility. In the last six years, 29 Maryland students have won Hollings Scholarships! (click that link) This guide answers all your questions about class format, delivery method, expectations, etc. Common questions I've been getting are: Why does the time say "TBA"? Why can't I see all of my classes on my student schedule? What does blended mean? Do I have to go to class on the assigned time? You'll also see other information about adjusting your schedule, waitlists, and search functions.

Apply today! UMD Peer Educators/Advisors Office of Sustainability Description:   Are you interested in teaching other students about sustainability? The Office of Sustainability is seeking Sustainability Advisors to teach freshmen about sustainability and ways to get involved with sustainability initiatives on campus. Sustainability Advisors visit UNIV 100, HONR 100, Scholars Colloquium, and other first-year seminar classes to teach a 60-minute lesson. You would receive training in September and then teach the lesson to classes throughout October and November based on your availability. The total time commitment is 15-20 hours over three months. This program - including training and teaching sessions - will probably be fully online for the Fall 2020 semester. Online option for CHEM lab ​​For those who were planning to take CHEM131/132 this fall, you'll see that CHEM131 (lecture) is completely online. Though the Chem department is offering CHEM132 lab as a face-to-face course in the Fall, there is an online option.   It is listed separately as CHEM132V .
Fall 2020 Schedule of Classes Updated Testudo is now live with the updated Fall 2020 Schedule of Classes. Updates to Testudo happen overnight, not immediately, so keep checking back daily for possible updates. The Registrar's website has lots of helpful information to guide you through these changes (for example, what does "blended" mean? what's the difference between synchronous and asynchronous?).  ENSP courses will be offered as follows: ENSP101 - ONLINE ENSP305- ONLINE ENSP330 - BLENDED ENSP340 - mistakenly listed as in-person, but will be BLENDED ENSP400 - mistakenly listed as in-person, but will be BLENDED  Class Attendance Expectations: Whether the class is face-to-face or online, if class meeting days/times are indicated on your student schedule, you are expected to regularly attend each of those classes on the days/times indicated.
