Lecture: "Greening" of East African Livestock Title:  Participant observation of/in environmentality: Critical reflexivity in knowledge production in the context of “climate smart” development in the East African dairy sector Please join us on Friday, April 27th, at 1PM in Woods 1102 for a lecture by Dr. Todd A. Crane, ecological anthropologist at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) in Nairobi, Kenya, who will talk about his work with colleagues on the "greening" of the East African livestock sector. Dr. Crane is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he overlapped with both Dr. Jen Shaffer and Dr. Barnet Pavao-Zuckerman (Anthropology), where he also studied ecological and environmental anthropology. He was also faculty at Wageningen University prior to his move to the ILRI.

Wildlife Internship Opportunity    Foraging Behavior and Movement of White-Footed Mouse (Peromyscus leucopus) Study   From Grace Hummel, ENST graduate student:   I am a Master student in the ENST program, looking for help on an upcoming project that will start August 28, 2017 and run until November 10, 2017. Applications should be submitted no later than September 8 2017. In this study, I will be collaring white-footed mice to track their movement and behavior as it pertains to tick control treatments. This study falls under a larger research project run by the USDA in Howard County, Maryland. Interns will be required to help collar and track white-footed mice. Interns are expected to work a total of 10-16 hours a week, and trapping will occur 5 times a week to place collars on mice and retrieve collars from the field. Interns are expected to come out for 1 or 2 of those days each week. This job requires extensive telemetry work and training will be provided before technicians
