Info Session for students
EcoQuest New Zealand

EcoQuest (a study abroad program based in New Zealand) will be holding an info session TOMORROW (9/7/17) at 11:00am!   This is a great program for anyone interested in studying abroad!

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:  The EcoQuest Education Foundation (in partnership with the UNH Department of Natural Resources and the Environment) is a hands-on, multidisciplinary, research-oriented program that contributes to New Zealand's restoration ecology and sustainable resource management initiatives. EcoQuest has long-term commitments to ecological monitoring of endemic species and ecosystems, as well as projects and initiatives that advance sustainable management of natural resources and habitats.

Upon arrival at the EcoQuest seaside field center, students become active participants in a vibrant, sustainable learning community. The field-oriented delivery happens in a variety of terrestrial and marine ecosystems to allow students to develop an understanding of the many issues facing New Zealand today. Participants will travel to New Zealand's most majestic environments, which range from sub-tropical forests, to estuaries, to the sub-Antarctic mountains of the Southern Alps.

Semester participants have the opportunity to carry out team-oriented, directed-research projects while working closely with a faculty mentor and in association with New Zealand research partners and local communities.  Their collaborators include local iwi (tribes), government departments, non-government organizations, local authorities and community groups.

Students may choose from a a four-course, 15-week fall or spring term for 16 credits or a two-course, five-week summer session for 8 credits.  All majors are welcome!
