Inventory and Mapping Systems Coordinator Position in California

JOB TITLE: Inventory & Monitoring Systems Coordinator (I&M) 
DEPARTMENT: International Ops
LOCATION: Glendora, CA 
REPORTS TO: Dir. of Mon. & Evaluation
POSITION SUMMARY:
The I&M will assist in the development and oversight of Eden Reforestation Projects (Eden) Project Site Inventory
System and with the coordination and execution of Eden’s verification and monitoring systems. The I&M will work
closely with the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation to map and catalogue new reforestation sites and
coordinate the delivery, management, and analysis of monitoring data generated by the country-level monitoring
teams. The position requires careful attention to detail, day-to-day management of Eden’s central Forest
Information System, and regular communication with in-country monitoring teams. The I&M will be based out of
the Glendora office and will report directly to the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Project Site Inventory Coordination
• Manage Eden’s project database and regularly map new and potential reforestation sites.
• Create and manage site profiles summarizing unique features for each reforestation site.
• Administer Eden’s Forest Inventory System and its connections with development, invoicing and
accounting (Salesforce).
• Support and maintain a system that will consistently organize and supply Eden with new planting sites
from each project nation to ensure that reforestation projects are ready for future partner groups.
• Manage Eden’s enterprise accounts (iPhone, Drones, etc.) and maintaining an accurate record of
monitoring equipment and needs.
• Work with Eden’s Landscape Specialist on large-scale landscape sites relating to mega project
opportunities.
• Maintain a GIS database and create detailed, regional and national-level maps to be shared internally,
with business partners and key stakeholders.
2. Project Site Monitoring and Verification Coordination
• Support and manage a finance, monitoring and verification maturation schedule/calendar for all partner
groups and nations to ensure timely reporting of key deliverables.
• Provide polygon maps and GPS photo verification support for partner groups as needed by the
Development Department.
• Coordinate the collection, management and analysis of monitoring data and track progress towards
completion for reforestation projects.
• Provide IT support to ensure Eden has good communication systems and an ability to reliable share data
between project nations and Eden’s headquarters in Glendora, CA.
• Assist with the writing of partner monitoring reports as needed.
• Assist with partner monitoring field visits as needed.
3. Coordination and Communications:
• Work closely with country-level monitoring coordinators to ensure accurate information is uploaded into
the Forest Information System.
• Develop and maintain the inventory system for future partner groups.
• Assist in the development of large-scale landscape-level reforestation plans that detail current, near and
long-term reforestation priorities and projects to be marketed to business partners.
• Provide and organize polygon maps as needed.
• Assist with writing monitoring reports.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Excellent proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, mapping software, Google Apps and other software
systems essential the role.
• Experience with programming/coding and a commitment to develop tools and to learn and adopt new
systems and/or software to facilitate Eden’s mission
• Cross cultural relational skills
• Willingness to travel
• The job requires being reliable, communicative, responsible, dependable, fulfilling obligations and
meeting deadlines
• Demonstrated and proven record to work in a multidisciplinary team under changeable and complex
circumstances
• The job requires comfort in a changing environment and evolving priorities
