Present your sustainable solution to General Mills for $50,000!

The General Mills Feeding Better Futures Scholars Program invites young people (ages 13 to 21) to join them in solving the challenge of feeding a growing global population. As you know, it’s critical that we identify solutions in hunger relief and sustainable food production today to feed our world tomorrow. And we believe no one organization or person can solve this issue alone.

Students will pitch their in-action sustainability and hunger relief solutions they are leading in their own communities. Whether related to soil health, water quality, pollinator health or providing better food access and reducing food waste, they are looking for ideas that have the potential for growth and greater good.
Entry is simple. Students have until March 5 to share a short video [via the above-linked website] of themselves explaining a problem they’ve identified in one of two categories — hunger relief and sustainable agriculture — and how they are solving for it in their own communities. Then, a panel of hunger relief and sustainability experts will review the video submissions and name five finalists. From these five finalists, General Mills will engage the public’s help in selecting a grand prize winner who will receive $50,000, an opportunity to present at the 2018 Aspen Ideas Festival and mentorship from an industry leader. The remaining four finalists will each be awarded $10,000 to grow their programs, in addition to the opportunity for industry mentorship.
